Learning outcomes
My course of Philosophy of music offers its students: (a) the
historical knowing of the European musical tradition, from Boezio
to Rameau, in its relationships to the scientific, philosophical
and artistic ideas in the Modern age (from the Reanissance to
Romanticism); (b) the understanding of the evolution and changing
of musical forms, concepts, and ways of thinking of music in the
modern European culture; (c) to thinking music in its cultural
changing relations to other learnings and histories.
Course contents
Title: The history of musical pleasure
The subject of Philosophy of Music for the year 2014/15 will be the
concept of musical pleasure, its cultural heritage and
theoretical foundation. The subject will be discussed through the
reading and comment on modern and eighteenth-century musical
sources.
