Learning outcomes

At the end of their internship, students should be able to plan their research or other intellectual work autonomously, and possess the necessary instruments to work autonomously and in a well organized way in professional contexts specifically related to their academic background. If required, students will also be able to illustrate the results of their activity in a methodologically correct oral or written form, with a high degree of accuracy.

Course contents

The places of the medieval and early modern text

Every text has its own history: a text, for instance, can be written in monastic scriptoria, chancelleries or bookshops. A text can be read or listened to in different places: in the refectory of a monastery, in the hall of a castle, in a studium and so on, but it can also be transmitted by media other than books, such as frescoes, paintings, epigraphs. The seminar, through the contribution of teachers from different areas of humanistic knowledge, will focus on the medieval and proto-modern period, examining some cases that link a text to a place in the broadest sense of the term, from that of environment to that of material aid in a professionalizing perspective, thus allowing the acquisition of transdisciplinary skills that will certainly be useful in the world of work.

Bibliography will be given during the lessons.
