Learning outcomes

The course aims to: 

  • illustrate the theme of social responsibility focusing on  cooperatives as forms of genetically responsible enterprise; 
  • clarify the cooperative diversities and introduce the key concepts concerning the development of cooperation from mutual to social;
  • provide, through the interpretative paradigm of "mission, governance and accountability" a key to understanding the different types of enterprise.

At the end of the course the student will be able to:

  • identify the different types of enterprise and the main characteristics that distinguish them; 
  • understand the objectives of mutual and social management; 
  • identify the models of governance that characterize cooperatives and the characteristics defining their level and type

Corporate Social Responsibility.
Mission, corporate governance and accountability : a conceptual framework.
Mission, corporate governance and accountability of cooperatives.
Analysis of cooperative accountability.
