Transnational litigation: current issues in civil and commercial matters

Course overview: The relevance of cross-border litigation is growing. The diffusion of world-wide online activities and the globalisation of economic and financial activities lead to the spreading of transnational disputes, which involve issues of jurisdiction, private international law, remedies available, harmonisation of procedural rules. The program of the Summer School deals with various issues of transnational litigation, in a comparative perspective, with both a theoretical and a practical approach. The Faculty of the Summer School is composed of experts from different jurisdictions, focusing on several aspects of private international and procedural law. The Summer School is aimed at law students as well as law graduates and law practitioners who want to obtain a specialised knowledge in this complex and fascinating area of International civil procedure. The lectures, if the conditions will make it possible, will be held in a hybrid way, either in presence or online.

Number of participants: Minimum 16 - maximum 80 (there are provided a maximum of 30 seats in presence, the rest of the students will be online). The Summer School will run with the minimum number of 16 enrolled students.

Admission qualifications: - Three-years degree or five years-degree, obtained or in course under D.M. 270/04 or First-cycle degrees in an equivalent disciplinary area, eventually obtained under previous systems (Decree 509/99 and Old system): L-14 Legal services science; L-36 Political and international relationships science, LMG/01 Law degree; LM52 International relationships; LM62 Political sciences.
- Other degrees are also accepted, provided they are supported by qualified and documented professional experience in CV.
