- Newton's method for system of non linear equations and its variants
- Numerical methods for one dimensional optimization

Teaching methods
Lessons and exercises in the computer laboratory; assigned homeworks.
Assessment methods
Written and oral exam: the written test consists of a set of theoretical questions; the oral test is a discussion of the assigend homeworks.
The final score is the sum of:
- the score of the written test (max 16/30)
- the score of the oral test (max 16/30)
If the final score is greater than 30, the laude is assigned.
