Learning outcomes
The course aims to integrate and consolidate—through further experimental laboratory activities—the knowledge acquired in the module "FOOD QUALITY AND FORMULATION (Integrated Course)." Specifically, it seeks to develop advanced practical skills in experimental work to support students in the design and formulation of food products, focusing in particular on chemical, physical, microbiological, and sensory quality attributes.
Course contents
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Apply analytical methodologies independently and critically in a laboratory setting.
- Operate according to good laboratory practices (GLP), in compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to draw conclusions consistent with hypotheses and product formulation application contexts.
- Collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams, clearly communicating the results of analyses.

Teaching methods
Practical laboratories.
Due to the types of activities and teaching methods adopted, attendance at this training activity requires all students to complete Modules 1 and 2 via e-learning [https://www.unibo.it/it/servizi-e-opportunita/salute-e-assistenza/salute-e-sicurezza/sicurezza-e-salute-nei-luoghi-di-studio-e-tirocinio] and participate in Module 3, which is specific to health and safety in the workplace. Information on the dates and attendance methods for Module 3 can be found in the dedicated section of the program website.
Assessment methods
Prior to the exam date, each working group must submit a report on the activities performed; the committee will then issue a certificate of completion based on this submission.
The committee will evaluate the report based on its content and presentation.
When drafting the report, limited, declared, and non-substantial use of AI for supporting tasks (such as summarizing or rephrasing sentences) is permitted. Substantial use of AI for the actual drafting of the report is not allowed.
