Learning outcomes

The seminars are designed to introduce students to some specialized aspects of the training. The seminars are related to the deepening of advanced topics, in particular taught by specialists or professionals of some disciplines of the learning activities. The seminars will deal with the themes connected with the areas of learning: computer science; literary, linguistic, historical/cultural and related to the arts in the digital context; transversal: economics, law and communication.

Course contents

The seminar series is based on the theme Hybrid Knowledge: Methods, Practices, and Disciplines.

The seminars explore different perspectives on hybrid knowledge across the humanities and cultural heritage. They are organized into five modules of six hours each, for a total of 30 hours.

Module 1: New Technologies and Research on Texts and Documents
Module 2: Sources and Historical, Philosophical, and Linguistic Analysis
Module 3: Artifacts and Material Objects
Module 4: Monuments, Architecture, and Historical Landscapes
Module 5: Technologies for the Enhancement of Cultural Heritage

References will be communicated by the teachers during classes.

Assessment methods

Students will be required to prepare a report or a project that explores two or more of the themes covered in the seminar series. The activity may be carried out in groups of up to three students. The report or project will be presented and evaluated during an oral session. It must be submitted to the professor(s) involved in the chosen topics approximately one week before the exam date.
