Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student acquires advanced knowledge of the biology of the human skeleton and its potential applications in the field of bioarcheology, paleoanthropology, and forensics. The student will be capable of studying unidentified human skeletal remains (forensic, archaeological, and fossil) through various methodologies, from restoration to the analysis of specific bone and dental markers (age, sex, health status, physical activity, trauma, diseases, etc.) to reconstruct the biological profile and lifestyle of past populations. The course includes both theoretical and laboratory preparation, along with technical training for the study of osteological samples using Virtual Anthropology methodologies.
