Teresa Nicolosi

I am an archaeologist and biological anthropologist specialising in the analysis of biological and cultural aspects of past human communities.

During my PhD, I investigated Copper Age human groups from northern Italy and eastern Europe, aiming to reconstruct funerary practices and mobility patterns through a multidisciplinary approach. My research integrates osteological, proteomic and isotopic methods with archaeological interpretation.

The same research aims and methodologies underpin my current postdoctoral position, which focuses more specifically on investigating these aspects and their relationship with gender dynamics.

Previously, I held a research fellowship within the UNAEuropa alliance, working alongside the UNIBO Self Steering Committee on the Cultural Heritage pillar. My research interests also include the study and management of anthropological collections and the ethical implications associated with them.

Since 2023, I have been involved in archaeological fieldwork campaigns in the United Arab Emirates as Anthropology Consultant for the Italian Archaeological Mission in Umm al-Quwain (IAMUQ).
