Learning outcomes

The student acquires an understanding of the dynamics of the healthcare provider–patient relationship, work-related stress, and burnout in the professional context.

Course contents

- Group dynamics and interprofessional teamwork: collaboration, conflict management, and professional roles within the healthcare team.

- Work-related stress and burnout: risk factors and prevention strategies.

- Communication with patients and caregivers.

- Common communication errors in healthcare settings.

- Communicating medical and scientific information.

Teaching methods

Teaching involves lectures and practical exercises carried out by students individually or in small groups.

Assessment methods

The final assessment consists of an oral examination.

During the examination, students will be assessed on the extent to which they have achieved the course learning objectives, with particular reference to the knowledge acquired, their ability to apply it, their critical analysis skills, and their appropriate use of discipline-specific terminology.

Assessment criteria

29–30 cum laude: comprehensive and thorough knowledge of all course topics; excellent critical analysis skills and ability to establish connections between the topics covered; full command of discipline-specific terminology.

26–28: good knowledge of a broad range of course topics; good ability to synthesise information and engage in critical analysis; good command of discipline-specific terminology.

23–25: adequate knowledge of a broad range of course topics; adequate ability to synthesise information and engage in critical analysis; adequate command of discipline-specific terminology.

18–22: sufficient knowledge of the main course topics; adequate ability to synthesise information and engage in critical analysis; sufficient command of discipline-specific terminology.
