Assessment methods
The assessment consists of the individual preparation of a written report on a reorganisation project based on a real or simulated case study, followed by an oral presentation in class. During the discussion, students must explain the organisational decisions taken and justify them on the basis of the theoretical knowledge, methodological tools and regulatory references acquired during the course.
The project will be set by the lecturer in accordance with the procedures and deadlines set out during the course.
The report must describe and analyse the following aspects:
- quantification of the human resources required;
- organisation of working hours;
- proposals for changes to the shift pattern, including any rotation arrangements;
- review of the working hours schedule, ensuring it complies with contractual obligations.
During the oral examination, students must demonstrate their ability to critically analyse the reorganisation project, justify the proposed organisational choices, use appropriate technical and scientific terminology, and link operational aspects to the theoretical, organisational and regulatory principles covered during the course.
The examination will be conducted in accordance with the University Regulations and any organisational provisions communicated by the lecturer.
The assessment is marked out of thirty and takes the following criteria into account:
- the accuracy, completeness and relevance of the knowledge demonstrated;
- the ability to critically analyse the reorganisation project;
- ability to apply theoretical, organisational and regulatory knowledge to the solution of the proposed case study;
- appropriateness of the organisational solutions proposed, with particular reference to the management of human resources, working hours and shift patterns;
- accuracy of the assessment of compliance with contractual obligations;
- appropriate use of technical and scientific terminology.
