Learning outcomes

Knowledge and Understanding: Knowledge of the main theoretical models of psychological well-being and their related measurement tools, and understanding of motivational processes during medical education; understanding and recognizing the role of interindividual differences in psychological well-being and self-regulation processes.

Applying Knowledge and Understanding: Apply the concepts of interindividual differences and self-regulation in defining personal goals; use interprofessional collaboration skills to promote well-being and motivation.

Making Judgements: Critically evaluate measurement tools and motivational strategies; recognize self-regulation strategies that support well-being.

Communication Skills: Communicate effectively concepts, perspectives, and data related to psychological well-being, motivation, and interprofessional collaboration.

Learning Skills: Reflect on one’s own educational experience to support motivation, self-regulation, and collaborative skills.

Course contents

  • Fundamental processes of care, self-care, and care for others.

  • Self-awareness of moral cognition in the process of medical education.

  • Analysis of complex cases from the perspective of value systems and moral cognition.

  • Moral deliberation techniques.

  • Readings/Bibliography

    During the course, scientific articles will be recommended. The slides presented in class will be available on the Virtuale platform.

    Teaching methods

    Lectures and practical activities (role-play, reflective writing, and critical discussion of scientific articles).

    Assessment methods

    The assessment for Module 2 of General Psychology consists of a quiz made up of 5 true-or-false questions.

    Overall, across the three modules of the Elective Course, a total of 15 questions are administered (5 for each module). Each correct answer is worth 1 point, and each incorrect or unanswered question is worth 0 points.

    Eligibility (pass) is achieved with a score of 12 points or higher. The final evaluation (pass/fail) is overall and refers to the entire Elective Course.
