Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students will: - have learned about the sources of European civil procedural law and acquired specific knowledge regarding the harmonization of civil procedural law within the European Union; - have gained an in-depth understanding of the influence of European procedural law on certain national legal systems (Italy, France, Spain, and the Netherlands); - have analyzed the main provisions of the European rules of civil procedure.

Course contents

The seminar will be held in the second semester. It is organized as part of the activities of the Jean Monnet Chair in European Judicial Cooperation.

The program is currently being developed. The lectures will be held by Prof. Lupoi and several foreign guests.

In particular, the following will participate in the course:

- Edith Nordmann (Managing Partner and Attorney-at-Law at ACG International and Chairperson for Netherlands India Chamber of Commerce and Trade (NICCT)

- Alina Ontanu (University of Tilburg)

- Marco de Benito (IE University Madrid, Jean Monnet Chair in European Civil Procedure)

The lecturers will provide presentations and materials during the classes.

Teaching methods

The lessons will be interactive, with participants involved in the discussions.

Assessment methods

At the end of the seminar, there will be a written test with two open-ended questions on the topics covered in class.
