C7652 - COMUNICAZIONE MORALE E SOCIETÀ COMPLESSA. INTRODUZIONE ALLA ANALISI DEL POLITICAMENTE CORRETTO, WOKEISM E CANCEL CULTURE

Academic Year 2025/2026

Learning outcomes

Through laboratory activities selected from those offered each year, students develop transversal skills in the practical application of knowledge acquired in the coursework. They are able to gather, organize, and analyze complex information, as well as present the results of their analysis in written and oral form.

Course contents

In a rather unpredictable way, what can be called "moral communication"—communication that distinguishes between good and evil (or more precisely, between attributions of esteem and disesteem to people and organizations)—is becoming increasingly relevant to contemporary societies. Morality and the processes of moralization are entering into political, economic, scientific, religious, and other forms of communication, filling social media. This phenomenon of virtue signaling must be understood, especially in its politically correct and so-called woke culture incarnations. Why is morality so relevant today? Is it a phenomenon that can itself be morally judged? What are the identities and interests at stake and in conflict? Starting from the concept of "profilicity," the workshop will attempt to spark some reflections and share them with students.

At the end of the workshop, students will have acquired skills for analyzing cultural social phenomena.
