73380 - LABORATORIO DI FORMAZIONE PROFESSIONALE PER L'EDUCATORE SOCIALE E CULTURALE I (G.R)

Academic Year 2025/2026

Learning outcomes

At the end of the workshop the student will achieve the following competences and skills:

- applying ethnographic techniques autonomously or within institutional projects;

- negotiating with others how to use and report the tools learned;

- using the specific knowledge achieved in different types of service;

- assessing limits and potentialities of the tools learned;

- understanding how to apply and adapt ethnographic tools in different settings.

Course contents

The workshop presents a variety of ethnographic research techniques for the observation, description and understanding - from an anthropological perspective - of the professional and organizational contexts in which they will carry out their internship and where they will operate as educators.

With the help of specific ethnographic texts and films, students will familiarize with ethnographic “fieldwork”. Particular attention will be devoted to the application of anthropological concepts and methods, including the ethical dilemmas that this entails.

Students will experiment through exercises and short individual or group work with some research tools (field diary, participant observation, shadowing, in-depth interviews) and will be invited to discuss, from a critical and reflexive perspective, their limits and potential.
