Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the activity, the student possesses knowledge and skills of analysis and design of soil and land protection interventions in an integrated form with respect to the various disciplines involved.
Course contents
The Lab aims to strengthen design skills and abilities in the field of natural and anthropogenic risk assessment and mitigation. With this in mind, particular attention will be paid to the analysis and resolution of real cases, thanks also to the collaboration and sharing of information with agencies in charge of soil protection and hydraulic protection of the territory, providing students with additional practical skills to complement the theoretical notions illustrated during the frontal lectures and the technical skills acquired by tackling the study of the individual teachings.
Readings/Bibliography
Specific teaching materials, scholarly articles, textbooks, as well as excerpts from manuals on design and the use of appropriate calculation codes, will be indicated by the instructors of reference according to the topics addressed by the various students and the in-depth studies needed.
Teaching methods
The Workshop involves the use of themed seminars, classroom exercises, team work, regular meetings with teachers, and possible field trips.
Assessment methods
The final examination will consist of an oral test of acquired skills based on the discussion of the project carried out and delivered prior to the examination (individual/group).
Teaching tools
Review of specific theoretical topics is followed by hands-on activities in programming and/or software use, to be set up in the classroom and developed independently. Handouts related to topics covered during and exercises are accessible by students in the course during the teaching period in Virtuale.
Frontal classes and seminars are generally recorded and made available in asynchronous mode on the dedicated resource Virtuale.
