Learning outcomes
The course provides the basics of power electronic components and circuits for photovoltaic generation and electric energy storage. By the end of the course, students will be able to: sizing the different types of dc / dc converters, sizing a photovoltaic generator and related power electronic devices in stand-alone and grid-connected configurations, understand the characteristics of solar radiation and photovoltaic conversion, sizing the main electrical energy storage systems such as: electrochemical systems, superconducting magnets (SMES), supercapacitors, hybrid systems, micro-storage, defining the optimal management of the charging and discharging of storage systems, with reference to their use stand-alone and in grid-connected mode.
