To start your mobility period you need to check-in.

Bologna Campus

If you are a citizen of an EU country or one of these countries: Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland, and have already completed your identity verification, you can use Fast Check-in.

Reply to the email you received titled "Fast Check-in: first step completed" and submit your personal travel document for your arrival in Italy (for example, your flight ticket). The trip must already have been completed. If you do not have a travel document, contact the Exchange Student Desk well in advance.

You will receive the following by email:

  • your Certificate of Arrival (a Certificate of Attendance that only shows the mobility start date) with a digital stamp;
  • a QR CODE that you will use to print your badge at one of the University’s self-service machines;
  • the "Welcome to Unibo" Check-in confirmation.

Important: 

  • The mobility start date is the first working day (Monday to Friday) after your arrival in Italy, which you must prove with your personal travel document (for example, your flight ticket in your name);
  • You may attend lectures even if you have not checked in yet.

If you are a citizen of a non-EU country or have not completed your identity verification, you must check in at the Virtual Desk (Virtual Desk Check-in).

Access the Virtual Desk of the Exchange Student Desk for the Bologna Campus.

Notify the staff that you wish to start an on-site mobility and show:

  • if you are an EU student: your passport or ID card;
  • if you are a non-EU student: passport with a visa;
  • your personal travel document for your arrival in Italy (for example, your flight ticket). The trip must already have been completed. If you do not have a travel document, contact the Exchange Student Desk well in advance.

At Check-in, you will receive your Certificate of Arrival (a Certificate of Attendance that only shows the mobility start date) with a digital stamp.

You will also receive an e-mail with a QR CODE that you will use to print your badge at one of the University’s self-service machines.

If you are a non-EU student, at Check-in you will receive information about the Residence Permit and the Certificate of Arrival, which you must enclose with your application.
