Academic Year 2026/2027

  • Teaching Mode: In-person learning (entirely or partially)
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Primary Teacher Education (cod. 5711)

Course contents

The OFA course is designed to complement the Italian Literature and Language curricula for the first year and subsequent years of study.
The course aims to develop skills in comprehending and producing various types of academic texts across different disciplines, focusing particularly on the linguistic and discursive aspects of the written work. Special attention will be paid to acquiring skills in constructing summaries and argumentative texts.
General course content:
1. Differences between written and spoken language.
2. Analysis of literary theses.
3. Argumentative writing techniques.
Students wishing to attend the workshops must:
- register for the workshop via Almaesami starting in December 2026;
- attend the first class and inform the instructor of their intention to participate;
- ensure attendance of at least 70% of the workshop hours.
Participation in the OFA support workshops is strongly recommended for all students who have incurred one or two OFA debts.
N.B.: Students with an OFA debt must pass the OFA course exam before they can take Professor Bonazzi’s Italian Literature and Language exam.

Readings/Bibliography

The materials for in-person and at-home lessons and exercises will be made available on Virtuale.

Teaching methods

The course consists of 40 hours of lectures, as well as independent study and the production of various types of texts. Literary texts will be analyzed using historical, critical, and philological approaches. Students will be required to produce their own texts and analyses. Only those who have completed the assigned tasks will be eligible to take the final exam; for this reason, non-attending students are also encouraged to participate in the workshop.

Assessment methods

For attending students: assessment will take the form of a written assignment.

For non-attending students: the final assessment will include additional written tasks compared to those required for attending students.

The first available exam sessions to clear the OFA (Additional Educational Obligation) will be held immediately after the support workshop concludes.

Assessment results are recorded as either "pass" (suitable) or "fail" (not suitable).

The Italian OFA support workshop is integrated into the Italian Language and Literature course; consequently, only students who successfully pass the OFA requirement will be eligible to take the Italian Language and Literature exam taught by Professor Nicola Bonazzi.
