Course contents

The course aims to provide students with the essential legal knowledge required to understand the organization and functioning of public administrations, with particular emphasis on the management of financial resources and the relationship between the national legal system and the legal order of the European Union.

The course adopts an approach geared towards careers in economics and public administration. Alongside the theoretical analysis of the relevant legal concepts and institutions, students will examine documents, procedures, and practical cases relating to financial planning, budgeting, the use of EU funds, public expenditure oversight, and accountability in the management of public resources.

Particular attention will be paid to the role of public administrations in implementing European policies, the principles governing the use of the European Union’s financial resources, and the main funding instruments available to Member States, regional and local authorities, businesses, and other beneficiaries.
