Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will understand: - the clinical aspects and indications for radiotherapy in the most common oncological diseases; - the cost-benefit analysis of treatment options to guide optimal choices in terms of both treatment and quality of life for cancer patients; - the challenges of multidisciplinary approaches, aimed at optimizing the integration of various therapeutic interventions; - standard radiotherapy modalities according to evidence-based medicine for the most common diseases, with particular attention to the integration of radiotherapy with surgery and chemotherapy as components of the comprehensive therapeutic pathway for cancer patients; - treatment outcomes. Upon completion of the course, students will acquire the knowledge necessary to understand the rational methodology of the multidisciplinary clinical approach to patients in integrated oncology treatments, which form the basis of the greatest successes achieved today, both in terms of cure, with maximum limitation of side effects, and in terms of improving quality of life where cure is not possible.
