Learning outcomes
Students will be able to: * Identify core research questions and methodological approaches in contemporary health economics and health policy analysis. * Interpret empirical and theoretical contributions presented in academic and policy-oriented seminars. * Assess the relevance of health economics research for health policy design, implementation, and evaluation. * Critically reflect on the assumptions, data sources, and analytical methods used in health economics studies. * Engage in informed discussion with researchers and practitioners on topics related to health systems, health policy, and economic evaluation.
Course contents
Research seminars in health economics organized throughout the academic year by the BHEPPE (Bologna Health Economics and Public Policy Evaluation) research group at the Department of Economics. The programme also includes online seminars hosted by national and international research institutions.

Teaching methods
In-person seminars offered by the BHEPPE research group at the Department of Economics. Where: Seminar Room, Piazza Scaravilli 2, Bologna.
Online seminars in all areas of health economics hosted by national and international research institutions (see on Virtuale for the details).
Assessment methods
Write down the list of the 8 seminars they attended to and prepare a report for 3 of them. The 3 reports will provide a summary and a synthetic critical assessment of the methods and results contained in the papers presented in the selected seminars (minimum length: one page; maximum length: two pages for each chosen seminar).
Final remark: Artificial Intelligence (AI) may be a useful tool to support independent study through additional insights, summaries, and self-assessment activities. However, in making the reports, the use of AI is strictly prohibited. Any such use constitutes a violation of academic integrity.
Teaching tools
