Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students will have a critical understanding of theories, models, and methodologies for promoting educational and training initiatives within a lifelong learning perspective. They will be able to develop and apply new transversal, digital, and linguistic skills, managing innovative and complex projects based on principles of equal opportunity and intersectional perspectives. They will be capable of networking, designing and coordinating research activities, conducting regular evaluations and self-assessments, and promoting integrated and sustainable training interventions. Moreover, they will be able to adopt reflective and empowerment strategies to prevent burnout, continuously update their competences, and foster (their own and others’) personal and professional development throughout life.

Course contents

The course will address the most important theories, models and theoretical approaches related to lifelong learning in the framework of the knowledge society. The training dimension of work, in complex organizations, will be addressed in the context of complex societies and the processes of globalization of the economy. Finally, the course will address the role of research and educational intervention starting from the plurality of theoretical approaches in the contemporary pedagogical debate. The relationship between adult/education will, in particular, be dealt considering some fundamental variables such as gender, culture, competencies.
