Course contents

The workshop addresses and explores in depth the issue of socio-educational interventions aimed at the adult homeless population.

It is structured to enable educators to gain practical experience within services targeting populations experiencing high social vulnerability. The workshop will examine the most innovative tools and intervention models, with particular reference to practices currently implemented in Bologna, including field visits and meetings within the community.

The following topics will be explored:

  • introduction to homelessness;
  • street education and proximity
  • actions to homeless people;
  • network;
  • the construction of a personalized inclusive project for adults.

These aspects will be analyzed in the classroom, through group work and common activities.

There are no required textbooks for this workshop.

Additional materials will be provided throughout the workshop and made available on the virtual learning platform.

Teaching methods

Short theoretical presentations followed by cooperative learning groups; group exercises and presentation of results; role-playing games; video screenings; and discussions with experts from the field.

Assessment methods

Students are assessed on the basis of the work completed, their active participation throughout the laboratory, and their reflective engagement with the learning experience, demonstrated during the final session through either a written reflection or a collective discussion.

Attendance is compulsory for at least 18 of the 24 scheduled hours.
