Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the workshop, the student: - is able to work independently in applying the specific techniques learned, either on their own or within projects organized by institutions; - is able to discuss with others how to use and document the techniques learned; - is able to apply the specific knowledge gained to different types of services; - is able to evaluate the limitations and advantages of the technical tools learned; - will be able to adapt the technologies learned to different contexts by making personal modifications and additions.

Course contents

Documentation in Support of Planning and Reflection

 

In early childhood services, documentation plays a central role because it allows for critical analysis and reflection on the processes set in motion and on individual and collective trajectories, assessing the alignment between stated goals and actual actions.

 

Education professionals and workgroups are required to possess planning and documentation skills that entail the ability to share thoughts, negotiate meanings, and communicate ideas effectively with diverse audiences. The quality of a group’s work is grounded in its ability to make educational processes the subject of shared reflection, which serves as the driving force behind reflective learning about the practices in use within the services.

 

This workshop aims to stimulate reflection on the use of documentation to support service planning by analyzing various forms of documentation and designing specific products that integrate text and images.

Teaching methods

The workshop calls for active participation from attendees, who will be invited to:

 

- analyze various types of documentation produced on different media and designed for a wide range of audiences;

 

- work in groups to design documentation materials;

 

- discuss their experiences and the materials they have created;

 

- learn about the resources available locally for promoting a culture of documentation and for accessing these materials.

Assessment methods

To assess learning, the projects produced as part of group work and the individual written assignments submitted during the sessions will be taken into consideration.
