Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: - understand the models, methodologies, and criteria of the corporate risk assessment process; - understand the contents of the Corporate Risk Assessment Document (DVR); - understand the contents of the Interference Risk Assessment Document (DUVRI) for contracted work; - be able to identify hazards, estimate workplace health and safety risks, and identify prevention and protection measures in the main production sectors.

Course contents

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

Corporate risk assessment: reference methodology, supporting information sources, and the contents of the Risk Assessment Document (DVR).
Risk assessment in small and medium-sized enterprises based on Standardized Procedures.
Interference risk assessment in procurement management and the related reference document (DUVRI).
Machinery and work equipment safety: certification procedure and documentation, and the main safety requirements established by the relevant legislation.
Occupational health and safety risk analysis and related prevention and protection measures in production processes in the following sectors:
- Metalworking

- Wood

- Agriculture

- Healthcare

- Ceramics

- Plastics

- Logistics

Teaching methods

Lectures, with presentation of documents and images/videos of real-world situations in the workplace.

Presentation and analysis of cases of serious workplace accidents occurring in various production sectors.

Assessment methods

1) Written test for admission to the oral exam with multiple-choice questions related to the topics covered in class. The test consists of 40 questions (four of which can be chosen), and a passing grade is considered valid with 30 correct answers. Passing the test allows the student to be admitted to the oral exam, which will award the final grade.

2) The oral exam, which will determine the final grade, will focus on questions related to the topics covered in class, particularly the tools and methods of the risk assessment process in the workplace, the health and safety risks in the main production sectors, and the relevant applicable prevention and protection measures.

Teaching tools

Power Point presentations and photographic illustrations relating to specific cases and risk factors for health and safety at work.
