Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will have acquired knowledge of the classification and characteristics of the main healthcare products available on the market, including medicinal products, nutraceuticals, herbal products, and related health products; the regulatory pathways for medicinal product approval and the procedures governing access to medicines; the fundamental principles of clinical drug development and clinical trials; the essential information required for the appropriate prescribing of medicinal products and the design of therapeutic regimens; and the criteria used to evaluate the benefit–risk and cost–benefit profiles of medicinal products.
Course contents
Pharmacoepidemiology and drug development, including preclinical and clinical drug development, the role and functions of Research Ethics Committees, the classification of adverse drug reactions, and the fundamental principles of pharmacovigilance.
