Learning outcomes

Basic knowledge of surgical diseases, both in elective and emergency setting, with a specific focus on onychopathies

Course contents

  • Course introduction
  • Intersection between General Surgery and Podology 
  • Total and partial onycectomy (surgical technique, postoperative course and possible complications)
  • Ulcers of lower limbs
  • Foot wound and trauma
  • Frequent Surgical diseases: Umbilical/inguinal hernia,diverticular disease and diverticulitis; acute appendicitis, gallstone disease, acute cholecystitis
