Course contents

The following topics will be covered: Introduction: Legal medicine and forensic sciences Overview of law and the judicial system Crimes against personal safety Crimes against life Overview of forensic pathology and forensic thanatology Determination of death Legal status and duties of healthcare professionals (emergency aid, medical reports, and mandatory notifications) Clinical records Informed consent and medical records Voluntary termination of pregnancy Material causation; professional liability of physicians and healthcare workers

Lectures with PowerPoint presentations

Assessment methods

Written exam consisting of 32 questions, including 2 for honors; one point is awarded for each correct answer. There is no penalty for incorrect answers.
