Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the Applied Biology for Biomedical Studies course, students will have acquired knowledge of the principal functions of the cell in relation to its structure, as well as the processes involved in the maintenance, expression, and transmission of genetic information. Students will also have developed appropriate scientific and technical terminology and an understanding of the scientific method, both of which are fundamental components of the professional training provided by the Degree Programme.

Teaching methods
Frontal teaching.
Classroom activities guided by the teacher, aimed at helping students clarify and deepen their understanding of previously discussed topics.
Self-assessment tests.
Assessment methods
Written exam (1 hour), consisting of 32 questions with multiple-choice or open-ended answers. Each correct answer is worth one point. A minimum of 18 points is required to pass the test.
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) during the assessment is strictly prohibited. Any use of AI constitutes a violation of academic integrity.
Students with learning disorders and\or temporary or permanent disabilities: please, contact the office responsible (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/en/for-students) as soon as possible so that they can propose acceptable adjustments. The request for adaptation must be submitted in advance (15 days before the exam date) to the lecturer, who will assess the appropriateness of the adjustments, taking into account the teaching objectives.
Teaching tools
A computer is used to display illustrations and diagrams from textbooks or scientific articles, as well as short videos.
