Academic Year 2026/2027

  • Teaching Mode: In-person learning (entirely or partially)
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Physiotherapy (cod. 8476)

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, the student will understand the core principles of human behavior and psychological functions (perception, emotion, motivation, memory, learning, cognition, and language), recognizing the interplay between neurobiological mechanisms and behavioral processes within diverse socio-cultural contexts.

Course contents

The course presents the core psychological processes addressed in general psychology and involved in the organisation of human behaviour and interaction with the environment. It will focus on how individuals perceive and interpret stimuli, attend to and select information, learn from experience, remember, regulate emotions, construct meaning, and guide their behaviour.

The contents will consider the interaction between psychological processes, individual experience, and the sociocultural context. Where appropriate, examples relevant to the degree programme will be included, such as perception of the body and pain, motor learning, motivation, and communication within the therapeutic relationship in rehabilitation.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods

Passing the Integrated Course (I.C.) in Psychological and Pedagogical Sciences is possible only through a single examination, assessing the knowledge acquired in all the course units of the I.C., to be taken jointly within the same examination session. At the end of the examination, an overall grade will be awarded. If a passing mark is not achieved in one of the course units of the I.C., or if the student wishes to improve the grade obtained, the entire I.C. examination must be retaken.

The I.C. examination consists of a written test in General Psychology, a written test in Clinical Psychology, and an oral examination in Pedagogy. In order to sit the examination, students must register for the I.C. exam session through the appropriate lists published on AlmaEsami.

The General Psychology test lasts 25 minutes and consists of 31 multiple-choice questions. Each correct answer is awarded one point, while incorrect or missing answers receive no points. The use of supporting materials, such as textbooks, notes, or electronic devices, is not permitted during the test.

The use of AI tools is prohibited for assessment purposes. Any use of such tools constitutes a violation of academic integrity.

For any matters concerning the recording of the final I.C. grade, please contact Prof. Martoni.
