Learning outcomes
The student acquires further knowledge of the innovations inherent in multi-disciplinary subjects in seminars, conferences and internships; he/she knows how to use the main means of communication with an appropriate technical-scientific and specialist language; he/she is able to critically evaluate the results of scientific research, interpreting them and transferring them to particular cases in the processes of production and transformation.
Course contents
Professional updating offered both within UniBO and external events (with respect to the compulsory subjects or those freely chosen in their study plan), such as workshops, courses, seminars, conferences and other occasions for scientific and technical meetings to deepen the themes characterizing the course of study of Food Technologies.
The student must participate in the events and be able to document his presence at them for a total of 40 hours to be proven by certificates of participation issued by the organizing body. The usefulness of the activities followed and the acquisition of updated knowledge must be commented on by presenting a written report at the time of the exam, in which summary considerations on the individual activities carried out are reported and discussed through an interview with the Coordinator of the Degree Program.

Educational and informational material distributed during events attended or participated in by the student. Any proceedings from conferences or workshops and/or online presentations.

Assessment methods
The student prepares a summary report of the events attended, emphasizing the knowledge, skills, and abilities developed, and engages in a brief interview aimed at assessing the level of learning achieved during the activities conducted. The report must be accompanied by certificates of participation in the training events for a total of 40 hours (these certificates are issued by the various organizing bodies of the respective events).
Passing the test is recorded as 'eligibility'.
Teaching tools
The presence of scientific, informative, and cultural events on topics of interest to the CdS in Food Technologies, which can be attended for the acquisition of credits, is periodically communicated to students through postings on the bulletin boards and multimedia displays of the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences (www.distal.unibo.it). Furthermore, selected events will be notified to students in their institutional email inbox (@studio.unibo.it).
