Learning outcomes
Understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms of pain transmission. Nursing care for patients with pain, with particular attention to non-pharmacological approaches; complementary therapy models. How to describe pain through patient and nurse narratives (reflective writing, narrative time, illness narrative, and treatment narrative). Developing clinical reasoning and care planning for patients with acute/chronic pain, in different care settings.
