Learning outcomes

The student acquire heoretical and practical knowledge about MRI study ok neck, torax, abdomen and Angio body MRI.

Course contents

  1. The reception procedure until patient's discharge. Informed Agreement
  2. Neck MRI: general principles, technique and investigation methodology (coils, main sequences and acquisition plans used), basic protocols for the study of the pharynx, larynx, tongue and salivary glands, without or with contrast medium.
  3. Torax MRI: study ok the torax wall and study ok mediastinal pathologies:
  4. Upper abdomen MRI: general principles, technique and investigation methodology (coils, main sequences and acquisition plans used), basic protocols for the study of liver, bile ducts, pancreas, spleen, kidneys. Used of different types of contrast medium).
  5. Inferior abdomen MRI: general principles, technique and investigation methodology (coils, main sequences and acquisition plans used), basic protocols for the study of prostate, rectum, uterus and appendages. Morpho-functional study of pelvic floor.
  6. Complet abdomen MRI: Entero -Mri
  7. Cardiac MRI and angiographic study of Aorta, big abdominal arteries, lower limbs vessels.
  8. The ultimate lessons consist in showing images and studies about anatomic districts studied;this is important for taking confidence with mri anatomy and for improve detection of artifacts or technic errors.

Teaching methods

Interactive frontal lessons with illustration of slides.

Assessment methods

Learning is verified through a final exam which verifies the acquisition of the expected knowledge and skills, through an written test on the main topics covered during the lessons. The test will be evaluated on the basis of the following parameters:

- knowledge, mastery and in-depth study of the contents

- critical and expository ability

- correctness of technical-scientific terminology.
