Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- understand the main theoretical and epistemological foundations of teaching;
- interpret the main theories of teaching and learning;
- analyse the concept of didactic mediation and its role in teaching and learning processes;
- compare and choose appropriate teaching strategies for different subject areas;
- use the concept of competence in designing and assessing learning activities;
- work in groups to design an interdisciplinary teaching activity related to their subject area.
Course contents
Module 1 – Online (5 hours)
This module introduces the main theoretical and practical foundations of teaching, with a focus on their application in specific subject areas. It covers key methodological approaches, instructional design models, the concept of didactic mediation, and the main theories of learning and teaching.
Module 2 – In person (5 hours)
This module focuses on the practical dimension of teaching, including the design of effective learning environments and competence-based education. It explores active, cooperative, and laboratory-based methods. Participants will work in groups to design an interdisciplinary teaching activity related to their subject area.

Teaching methods
The course combines lectures and interactive sessions, supported by slides and audiovisual materials, along with guided discussions.
In-person activities will include a workshop-based approach, with small group work focused on the practical application of the content.
Assessment methods
Course completion will be based on meeting the minimum attendance requirement and submitting any assigned coursework.
The assessment of learning outcomes is part of the final examination required to obtain the teaching qualification for the relevant subject area.
