Learning outcomes

Module 1 – Online

At the end of the first 5 hours of online instruction, participants will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the epistemological and methodological-procedural foundations of didactics;
  • Identify and understand the main models of instructional design;
  • Understand the principles of individualization and personalization in teaching and learning processes;
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the construct of didactic mediation, with reference to the specific subject area (teaching qualification);
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the main theories of learning and teaching, in relation to specific subject areas;
  • Recognize similarities and differences among the teaching methodologies considered, in relation to their applicability within specific subject areas;
  • Identify key elements for the design of instructional activities aligned with coherent and appropriate teaching methodologies.
Module 2 – Face-to-face

At the end of the second 5 hours of face-to-face instruction, participants will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and the ability to recognize the construct of the learning environment;
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the concept of competence;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the main teaching/learning methods and instructional strategies in secondary education, with particular reference to active, cooperative, and laboratory-based approaches;
  • Design an interdisciplinary instructional plan in small groups, taking into account the specific subject areas (teaching qualifications).

Course contents

Module 1

  • Epistemological and methodological-procedural foundations of didactics and its relationship with other educational sciences;
  • Main models of instructional and educational design;
  • The concepts of individualization and personalization and their application in the classroom;
  • The concept of competence;
  • The main teaching/learning methods and key instructional strategies in secondary education, with particular reference to active, cooperative, and laboratory-based approaches, also supported by the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies).

Module 2

  • Cooperative learning and its different forms of implementation;
  • Problem-Based Learning (PBL);
  • Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL);
  • Cooperative Learning;
  • Innovative learning environments (making, tinkering, coding);
  • Models for the design of integrated methodologies;
  • Tools and strategies for differentiated instruction.

Teaching methods

  • Lectures delivered in both frontal and interactive formats, supported by slides and audiovisual materials, with guided discussion;
  • Face-to-face sessions involving the activation of group work activities.
  • Assessment methods

    ligibility for the course will be granted based on verification of the minimum attendance requirement and the submission of any assignments required במהלך the course.

    Assessment of learning outcomes is integrated into the final examination for the acquisition of the teaching qualification in the relevant subject area, as provided for by Article 9 of the Prime Ministerial Decree (DPCM) of 4 August 2023.
