Learning outcomes
At the end of the module, students will have mastered the fundamentals of the French language; they will be able to understand and produce written texts and oral speech, expressing themselves with relative fluency and spontaneity. The skills achieved at the end of the first year are approximately level B1 of the CEFR.
Course contents
The course aims to develop students' spelling, vocabulary, and writing skills, both by taking full advantage of the similarities between Italian and French (intercomprehension, graphic isomorphism that can facilitate learning), and by focusing on areas where the native language is ineffective (commonly used French words that need to be integrated but have no corresponding isomorphic form in Italian). Ultimately, contrastive vocabulary, particularly for "non-friends," and various exercises aimed at increasing students' writing autonomy will be the focus of the course. Attendance is mandatory at 70%.
