Learning outcomes

At the end of the course students are able to understand the international contracts and the principles regulating them. In particular, they are able to examine the International Commercial Contracts of the typical distribution sector, also according to the contractual and corporate antitrust law and joint venture agreements, with the aim to the internationalization of the company; they are also able to focus on different solutions for different situations.

Course contents

Abstract

Students will be guided through the sources of international trade and the key actors who shape its rules. They will learn to identify the law applicable to international contracts and to evaluate the various mechanisms for resolving disputes involving a foreign element in civil and commercial matters. Students will also grasp the fundamental principles of international contract law, understand the essential features of major contract types, including sales and commercial agency contracts, and gain insight into related negotiation strategies and drafting techniques.

Teaching methods

The course is conducted through traditional lectures, supplemented by the analysis of international contracts and judicial decisions to demonstrate the practical application of relevant legal principles.
