Readings/Bibliography
During the lectures, scientific articles and useful textbooks for study will be recommended.
Teaching methods
The course (1 CFU, corresponding to 8 hours of in-person teaching) is part of the Integrated Course “Maternal-fetal interactions in pregnancy and neonatal development: hormones, stress, sleep” (3 CFU), held in the fourth semester (second semester of the academic year). The entire exam syllabus is covered during the course.
The visual material presented during lectures is mainly taken from textbooks and scientific articles suggested throughout the course and will be made available from time to time on:
https://virtuale.unibo.it/ to students enrolled at the University of Bologna with institutional credentials.
Assessment methods
The assessment for the course “Hormones of pregnancy and lactation” is conducted through a true/false quiz based on the topics covered during lectures. This assessment is part of an overall test that also includes the other two sections taught by Prof. Russo and Prof. Pizza, together forming the Integrated Course “Maternal-fetal interactions in pregnancy and neonatal development: hormones, stress, sleep.”
A total of 18 questions will be administered, with 6 questions for each of the 3 sections. Each correct answer is worth 1 point, each unanswered question is worth 0 points, and each incorrect answer results in a –0.3 point penalty.
The exam is passed with a score greater than or equal to 8 points. The final evaluation (pass/fail) is overall for the entire Integrated Course.
Students with learning disabilities or temporary/permanent disabilities are invited to contact the dedicated office (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/it/per-studenti ) as soon as possible in order to arrange appropriate accommodations. The request must be submitted in advance (at least 15 days before the exam date) to the instructor, who will assess the suitability of the measures, taking into account the learning objectives.
