Learning outcomes
At the end of the laboratory, the students: - know how to apply what was covered in the integrated course within a simulated learning environment; - know how to reflect critically with peers on the proposed topics.
Course contents
The workshop is an active methodology based on the principle of learning by doing. Knowledge is generated through discussion, debate, and the negotiation of solutions within work groups. A workshop isn't designed to memorize rules, but rather to build meaningful, stable yet flexible knowledge that can be modified as a given concept develops. During the meetings, non-standard problems suitable for preschool and elementary school will be proposed and designed. Reading and the related use of picture books and the use of strategy games will be emphasized: these are key mediators for creating and sustaining motivation to learn. Solved problem protocols will also be used to interpret the strategy used and, where applicable, the errors. The INVALSI tests downloaded from the Gestinv 3.0 website are also valuable resources for understanding children's reasoning, interpreting their choices, and influencing their teaching. In this context, it will be easy to view errors as opportunities for reflection. The common thread running through the various proposals is the development of numerical competence, which is structured as follows: conceptualization of numbers, the development of relational thinking, and operational mastery.
