Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student is able to recognize the risks for operators and patients in different care settings and applies the knowledge to ensure safety.

Course contents

The content is directly drawn from the relevant legislative source - Art. 37 of Legislative Decree 81/2008

* Healthcare working environments - specific characteristics;

* Manual handling of loads and patients;

* Physical risks (noise, vibrations, microclimate, etc.);

*Chemical risk (individual and collective protective measures);

* Medicinal gases in cylinders;

* Work-related stress, psychosocial discomfort, third-party violence, and gender differences;

* Instructions for emergency management in the workplaces of AUSL Romagna;

* Biological risk, health surveillance, vaccinations, working mothers, night work;

* Risks of ionizing radiation and non-ionizing radiation.

Brief notes on clinical risk and techniques to involve patients and their caregivers in promoting safety in hospital and home settings.

Use of health procedures/documentation in use within the AUSL Romagna and corporate tools to work safely.

Teaching methods

Interactive lesson using micro-case studies for the applicatiin nursing practice.

Assessment methods

The assessment of knowledge will be evaluated through a won computer support.
