Teaching methods

Teaching in presence

Assessment methods

Attending students will complete several in-progress exercises and finally present an in-class project dedicated to the valorization of audiovisual heritage, the curation of a film series or festival, or the invention of a cinematographic or audiovisual cultural project, including those for museums or exhibitions. This project must then be submitted in written form to the instructor for final evaluation (which will therefore consist of an oral pitch of the project and its graphical version). Group work is encouraged.

The final grade will be the result of the exercises and the final project (which will, however, have a majority and predominant weight).

NON ATTENDING STUDENTS

Students are required to produce a project between 5 and 6000 words (plus any graphs and images) focused on enhancing audiovisual heritage, curating a film series or festival, or developing a cinematographic or audiovisual cultural project, including those for museums or exhibitions. In addition, non-attending students must write a report of 7,000 to 10,000 characters about a festival, museum, exhibition, event, or film series of their choice.

Therefore, the texts in the bibliography will serve for skill acquisition; there will be no oral or written exams on them, only the preparation of the project itself.

Possible projects include:

  • Curation of an exhibition related to cinema and audiovisuals

  • Creation of a retrospective of films or other audiovisual objects

  • Organization of a festival or event related to cinema and audiovisuals

  • Any other type of exhibition, curatorial, or display project related to audiovisual or archival heritage, or dedicated to innovation and research in current and future cinema/audiovisuals, even by combining different approaches.

Multimedia and creative projects are also welcome.

Non-attending students' assignments must, in all cases, be submitted via email to the teacher at least 72 hours before the exam date.

Students with DSA or temporary or permanent disabilities: it is advisable to contact the University office responsible (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/it) in good time: it will be its task to propose any adjustments to the students concerned, which must in any case be submitted 15 days in advance for approval by the lecturer, who will assess the appropriateness of the adjustments in relation to the teaching objectives.
