Teaching methods

During the lectures, the topics outlined in the course syllabus will be presented and explored in depth, with ample opportunity for student questions and active encouragement of discussion on the issues addressed.

Assessment methods

The exam will be a single, integrated assessment for the course in Preventive and Community Health Sciences, which includes the following modules: Preventive and Community Nursing, Microbiology, Hygiene, and Radiation Protection. It will consist of two parts: an oral exam and a written exam, held a few days apart.

The first part will be an oral exam covering the syllabus of the Preventive and Community Nursing module.

Only students who pass the oral exam with a grade of at least 18/30 will be allowed to sit the written exam, which will consist of multiple-choice questions based on the syllabi of the Microbiology, Hygiene, and Radiation Protection modules.
The written exam will take place in person, on the EOL platform, using the student's own laptop or tablet.

The written exam will include 40 questions:

  • 16 on Hygiene

  • 16 on Microbiology

  • 8 on Radiation Protection
This distribution reflects the proportional weight of each subject based on its CFU (university credit).

To pass the written exam, students must answer at least 24 questions correctly.

The final grade will be a weighted average:

  • the oral exam will count for 2/7 of the final grade

  • the written exam will count for 5/7 of the final grade

Please note: a passing grade in the oral exam will not be considered valid if the student fails the written exam in the same exam session.
