Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is able to: Know the various aspects of the legislative system, the corporate prevention system, the public prevention system. Know the principles of accident prevention. Acquire criteria and tools for risk assessment and be able to evaluate the application and organizational effects of the assessment of some specific risks from work environments, falls from heights, fires and related emergency management Know the conditions of danger of accidents at work and the related remediation solutions in the main production sectors.
Course contents
Specific objectives:
- Corporate risk assessment: reference methodology, supporting information sources and the contents of the Risk Assessment Document (DVR).
- Risk assessment in small/medium-sized enterprises based on Standardized Procedures.
- Assessment of interference risks in contract management and the related reference document (DUVRI).
- Safety of machinery and work equipment: the certification procedure and documentation and the main safety requirements provided for by the reference legislation.
- Analysis of risks for health and safety at work and the related prevention and protection measures in the production processes of the following sectors:
- Metalworking
- Wood
- Agriculture
- Healthcare
- Ceramics
- Plastics
- Logistics

Teaching methods
Frontal lessons, with presentation of documents and images/videos of real situations in the world of work.
Presentation and analysis of cases of serious accidents at work that occurred in different production sectors.
Assessment methods
1) Written test for admission to the oral exam with multiple choice questions related to the topics covered in class. The test consists of 40 questions (4 answers) and passing the test is considered valid with 30 correct answers. Passing the test allows the student to be admitted to the subsequent oral exams defined by the teacher. The test does not provide for the assignment of a score for the final evaluation.
2) The oral exam, which will define the final grade, will focus on some questions of the topics covered in class with particular attention to the risk factors and prevention and protection measures applicable in the main production sectors covered in the course.
