Learning outcomes

Knowledge:
● Knowledge of innovations in CT, MRI, NM, RT, and interventional radiology.
● Understanding the foundations and applications of artificial intelligence in radiology.
● Understanding the key concepts related to PACS, teleradiology, and technological sustainability.

● Critically analyze the impact of new technologies on clinical practice.
● Engage with technical, scientific, and business leaders in the context of advanced diagnostics.
● Evaluate the relevance of scientific societies and evidence-based documents in radiology technologist practice.

Course contents

The course aims to provide an up-to-date, critical, and applied view of emerging technologies in diagnostic imaging. It will address key developments in artificial intelligence, advanced equipment, and radiological informatics, as well as their professional, ethical, and environmental implications. Special emphasis will be placed on interaction with industry professionals and scientific societies. To provide students with an advanced, critical, and up-to-date understanding of new technologies in diagnostic imaging, integrating theoretical, applied, and future perspectives, also drawing on contributions from the professional and industrial world.

● To understand the impact of new technologies on clinical practice and the role of radiology technicians.

● To acquire a critical view of the integration of technology, artificial intelligence, and professional skills.

● To introduce the basic concepts of technology assessment and sustainability.
