Learning outcomes

The course aims to explain to the students how to understand the cultural phenomena of contemporary society, start to recognize family structures, the cultural and communicative aspects within them (family's pattern), relationships with the outside world a single-family unit, and in particular the crucial impact of prejudice, stigma, and stereotypes phenomena.

Readings/Bibliography

During lectures, teacher will provide some sources, single articles, presentations, web links and papers. Those materials will be available and uploaded to students on the course's Virtuale page.

Teaching methods

During class, the teacher will present the course's topics through some PPTX, online tools presentations (canva.com, prezi.com, venngage.com), and some video presentations. All presentations will then be uploaded to the course's "Virtuale" page.

Assessment methods

  • The final exam consists of a written test administered through a web portal (online test by EOL) with a set of 30 multiple choice questions (generally 3 or 5 closed answers) in 60 minutes, and with an evaluation according to university regulations that will have a grade from a minimum of 18/30 up to a maximum of 30/30 cum laude.
  • Students can refuse the grade only once, there will be adequate time to be able to communicate the confirmation and refusal of the grade, and therefore students are allowed to repeat the exam a second time in agreement with the teacher.

Teaching tools

During the class teacher will present any topics by PowerPoint presentations, www.canva.com presentations and www.prezi.com presentations. These presentations in pdf file will then be uploaded to the virtual classroom of the course named "Virtual Learning Environment" 2025/2026
