Teaching methods

The course will have a highly interactive and participatory approach and will include activities of critical discussion of texts, exercises and group work. Guest lecturers will be invited to lecture.

Regular and active participation is strongly recommended. However, those who are unable to participate actively may still take the exam as non-attending students, with a slightly different exam programme and without the possibility of taking the mid-term exam or both exams together.

Assessment methods

The exam aims to ascertain the student's ability to apply the knowledge learnt and to make the necessary logical-deductive connections.

Learning objectives:
1. in-depth knowledge of the topics illustrated during the lectures and/or learned through the readings
2. ability to critically elaborate on these themes
3. ability to apply the topics learned to concrete contexts in the educational field
4. Language appropriateness
5. ability to work across disciplines.

Examination methods
open-ended written test

Students attending the entire integrated course (12 CFU) will be offered the opportunity to take two modules, Pedagogy 1 and Pedagogy 2 together in a single oral examination. In addition, attendees students may take an intermediate examination. Passing this mid-term examination halves the programme for the final examination. Alternatively, it is always possible to take a single oral final examination.

Assessment criteria
On the basis of the above learning objectives, the assessment mark will be divided into thirtieths according to the following criteria::

  • Preparation on a very limited number of topics dealt with in the course and ability to analyse which only emerges with the help of the instructor, expression in language generally correct, insufficient ability to critically review → 18-19;
  • Preparation on a limited number of topics covered in the course and ability to analyse independently only on purely executive issues, little ability to apply knowledge to concrete cases, expression in barely correct language → 20-24;
  • Comprehensive preparation on a large number of topics covered in the course, ability to make autonomous critical analysis choices, mastery of specific terminology, ability to link topics to concrete cases and other disciplines → 25-29
  • Fully comprehensive preparation on the topics covered in the course, ability to make autonomous choices of critical analysis and linking, excellent critical and autonomous thinking skills, full command of specific terminology and ability to argue and self-reflect → 30-30L.

For those taking the Integrated Course (12 CFU), the final grade will be based on the average of the two modules, Pedagogy 1 and Pedagogy 2, and will be recorded upon completion of the second module.

During the 2025-26 academic year, exams are scheduled for the following months:

October 2025 (only for attending students)

January 2026
