Learning outcomes
Knowledge of a standard methodology and clinical pathway for the main surgical pathologies, through direct observation of clinical cases accompanied by the ancillary tests deemed necessary for diagnosis; at the end of the course, the student is able to recognize the main surgical pathologies, formulate a prognosis, and propose treatment.
Course contents
The course will cover surgical pathologies of the various systems, excluding orthopedic conditions. The clinical aspect will be considered and the diagnostic and therapeutic process for pathologies of clinical and surgical interest will be planned. The aim of the course is to convey a clinical and surgical methodology for the treatment of pathologies of surgical interest in companion animals.

Teaching methods
The course includes both lectures and practical sessions. The course will be organized through lectures and group activities, including clinical skills workshops and workshops at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Problem-solving learning will also be used as a tool to encourage student engagement and interaction. Given the types of activities and teaching methods employed, participation in this course requires successful completion of Modules 1 and 2 in e-learning mode and Module 3 on health and safety training in study environments. Assessment methods
Learning will be tested through an oral exam, and the exam will be considered passed with a minimum score of 18/30.
