Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will gain theoretical knowledge relating to education, instruction and teaching; they will be able to use pedagogical language, to understand the link between individual representations and general pedagogy’s theories, in order to argue about pedagogical issues. Students will be able to recognize and analyse the typical features of educational relations and learning settings; they will learn the main methodologies to be used in educational intervention and their operative teaching implications. Furthermore, students will be able to describe the educator’s role and functions in intervention contexts. They will understand how to decipher educational situations, to hypothesize intervention guidelines and to choose consistent assessment criteria, mainly in relation to secondary schools.
Course contents

Through the dialogue with the psycho-pedagogy of communication, with the contributions of neuroscientific research and with some significant moments of reflection on the ethical problem, it will touch upon neuralgic themes for future secondary school teachers, such as the discomforts and rejects inherent in the process of growth and evolution, the problems connected to the reconstruction of one's own bodily and emotional memory, the possibilities of restructuring received conditioning and the transformation of educational styles. In the background, the analysis of a process of biological and socio-cultural evolution, which justifies the changes taking place and highlights the crucial role of the experiences of education, instruction and formation.
