Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student has acquired skills relating to child nutrition and, specifically, the practice and promotion of breastfeeding and nutrition in children with special needs.

Course contents

  • PROTECTION, PROMOTION AND SUPPORT OF BREASTFEEDING ACTIVITIES
  1. Child nutrition guidelines.
  2. National Prevention Plan 2020-2025.
  3. National breastfeeding strategies.
  4. International Code on the Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes.
  5. Breastfeeding during pregnancy.
  6. Feeding the child with special needs: late preterm infant and infant with cleft lip and palate.
  7. Promote breastfeeding beyond the first year of life.
  • COMPLEMENTARY NUTRITION
  1. Complementary nutrition: when, how and with what?
  2. Healthy family nutrition.
  3. Prevention of childhood obesity from pregnancy to the child's first 3 years.
  4. Pediatric unblocking and safe cuts.
  5. Accompany at the end of breastfeeding.
  6. Regulations on foods intended for infants and young children.
